INTENTIONAL LIVING Pt.2

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. KJV

BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT INCREASING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD

There are many believers who desire spiritual growth. They wish to be a good Christian like Billy Graham but their desire is left in the realm of wishes.

As they say, If wishes were horses, beggars will ride on them easily. The failure to be intentional about private bible study account for the stunted growth and shallowness of some believers.

There are things we hear in church on Sundays or during weekly services that we don’t pay much attention to.

One of those things that some believers have taken with levity is the study of God’s word. Not many attach success in life to the knowledge of God’s word but they listen to news and read the dailies.

Some read their bible only on Sunday mornings or when they’re in trouble. That way, you cannot benefit from the treasures in the word.

God’s expectation of you this year and beyond is that you should form a habit of studying your bible daily but you have to be intentional about it.

That’s a simple decision you need to make that will shape your life gloriously. If you have struggled with sin and addiction in previous years, the easy cure for mind re programming is the word of God,Rom 12:1-2.

You need the word of God in quality and quantity. Jesus had both. When the devil came tempting him, he replied him from the quality and quantity of the word that was inside him.

The food for your spirit man is the word and how strong your spirit man would be is a function of quality and quantity of your word intake.

This year, be intentional about upgrading your knowledge of the word by seizing every opportunity that will increase your knowledge*.

As a preacher or teacher of the word, enrol in a Bible school where you can get quality bible training. Don’t rely on what you’ve read in a book or heard from another preacher.

Don’t be a Bible illiterate this year. Biblical illiteracy is the reason for so many heresies. The devil is still selling lies to people but those that know the truth of God’s word won’t buy it from him.

If you intend to stay strong in the faith, deeply rooted and firm in Christ, you must be intentional about studying your Bible daily as a habit. Though it is not easy to the flesh but It is an essential Christian discipline you must cultivate.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to become addicted to God’s word In Jesus name. Amen
