INTENTIONAL LIVING Pt.15

Proverbs11:24 Give freely and become more wealthy;be stingy and lose everything.

BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT GIVING

There is a saying that giving is living.

No matter how people try to campaign against giving, it is God’s divine order for increase.

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty (Proverbs 11:24 KJV).

This is scripture. The world believes in witholding to be rich and wealthy but God’s principle for increase is to give.

God designed a system where increase is dependent on giving. The wisest man in the old testament says: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed”( Proverbs 11:25 NIV).

God the father gave Christ to the world so that sinners can be saved. Our salvation was perfected because God gave Christ to the lost world.

What If Christ was not given, will there be any other viable alternative? No.

This year, be intentional about giving. Do it joyfully. Stinginess is inconsistent with our nature as believers. It is an abberation that a Christian is stingy.

God is a giver. Giving is consistent with his nature. For any child of God carrying God’s nature, it is a misnomer to be stingy.

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?( Romans 8:32 NIV)

The word of God is clear on the subject of giving. In 2Corinthians 8, Apostle Paul gave us biblical guidelines on giving. He enjoined that we give cheerfully, bountifully and without coercion.

In Galatians6:7, he said: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”. This a divine principle that relates to all aspect of our lives, not money alone.

Whatever you give is a seed, it carries the potential of a harvest in it. God will never owe any man. The quality and quantity of your seed is directly proportional to the quality and quantity of your harvest.

[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings( 2 Corinthians 9:6 AMPC).

This year, be intentional about sowing good seeds on good soil through quality giving.

Start with the kingdom. In your local assembly, your giving ensures that the church runs properly. That’s what they use in organizing programmes, maintenance, outreaches and for ministers welfare.

Also, there are missionaries on the field among unreached people, labouring to see souls saved, do ensure you extend your giving to them.

In your giving, do not turn a blind eye on missions. It is God’s heartbeat. I’m yet to see a committed mission supporter that God abandoned.

The poor, the widow and less- privileged should be on your list this year and forever. God will surely reward you.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to be an intentional and addicted giver In Jesus name.
