CORRECTING FOUNDATIONAL DEFILEMENT Pt.1

Lamentations 4:12-13 Not a king in all the earth— no one in all the world— would have believed that an enemy could march through the gates of Jerusalem. Yet it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the sins of her priests, who defiled the city by shedding innocent blood” ( NLT).

In a minister’s conference I attended years back, Dr Akin-John told a true life story about a church during his teaching. He knows the church personally and was privy to all that happened.

That church that had an embarrassing problem. Their pastors in the headquarter church were sexually immoral. All the pastors who sat over the church were sexually immoral.

The first pastor impregnated three ladies, they removed him. The second pastor impregnated another lady. About six pastors in succession impregnated women that weren’t their wives.

This caused a great stir in the church. The youths decided to fast and pray for three days on the matter. The Lord revealed to them that the late founder of the church was sexually immoral.

When he laid the foundation of the church, the spirit of sexual immorality jumped into the building.

The youths demanded from elders to know where the first block was laid in the building. The elders showed them the spot where it was laid.

They broke the wall down to the foundation level. They laid a new foundation and that was the end of that problem. Isn’t that strange?

I wouldn’t have believed this story if I was told by an ordinary person. My mentor told us the story in a minister’s conference. I believe him because I have handled similar cases in counseling.

Those who don’t understand how certain things work spiritually may not believe this story but I know such happens.

There’s so much we need to learn about how things work in the realm of the spirit.

Paul said, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” ( 2 Cor 2:11).

The crisis some people are facing in ministry, marriage, career, business, and in their lives in general is as a result of a defiled foundation.

While God’s forgiveness and mercy is unquestionable yet Satan always seek to torment people with the consequences of wrong actions taken in the past.

This may sound strange in your ears but it is true especially those who hold a hyper grace view.

Truly, old things are passed away but that speaks of the forgiveness of our sin and our newness in Christ but not the consequences of certain actions except mercy prevails.

You’ll be lying to yourself If you say you’ve not seen believers suffer certain consequences for their evil actions in the past. It doesn’t mean God hasn’t forgiven them, of course they’re forgiven.

It is just the natural law of sowing and reaping that is at work. Nothing more.

I know a pastor that broke away from his spiritual father’s church in rebellion after securing the goodwill of people.

Today, many churches have broken away from his church. Most of his churches have become empty. Even where they call headquarters that use to be crowded has less than 100 persons. I know this story myself.

That’s traceable to a faulty foundation in ministry. He’s reaping what he sowed from the very beginning of his ministry.

Newton’s third law says, “for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction”. This applies in life dealings not only in motion.

You cannot afford to continue living your life anyhow, there’s a need to revisit the foundation of your life. How was it laid?

PRAYER: Father, repair the faulty foundation of my (…mention name) In Jesus name.
