IS IT POSSIBLE TO FACE CHALLENGES WHILE IN GOD’S PERFECT WILL?

John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]AMP

Yes, it is absolutely possible.
Some believers have this assumption that being in God’s perfect will is an escape route from challenges. The word of God did not promise us a life without challenges rather victory over our challenges. It is wrong to point accusing fingers at brethren passing through one challenge or the other as though they had offended God or committed an unpardonable sin. Looking vividly into the scriptures, there are examples of men who were in God’s perfect will and yet faced one of the toughest challenges, a vivid example is our Lord Jesus Christ. It was God’s perfect will for Him to die and He died a painful death on the cross for you and me. That was the perfect will of God for Him.

Hebrews12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The cross meant suffering. Anytime you read the scripture above, I want you to see it from the perspective of a man that was in God’s perfect will [Jesus was in God’s perfect will] but had to suffer. That is why the writer of Hebrews said we should look unto Him. Just like our master, we could find ourselves in situations where we are right at the centre of God’s will but with lots of challenges. That you married a spouse that the Spirit of God led you to does not mean there may not be one or two challenges in your marriage.

Apostle Paul told us about his travails as an Apostle doing God’s will in 2 Corinthians 6:3-13. He was stoned, beaten, shipwrecked and faced so many challenges that would have made ordinary men to back out, but because he knew who sent him, he remained steadfast.
Even in the old testament, God spoke through prophet Isaiah that we shall pass through the challenges of life. I want you to note the word ‘when’ in the scripture below:

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
If the scripture had said ‘if’, that would have meant it is optional but using the word ‘when’ makes it certain. Rivers and fires does mean something unpleasant. As a believer, when you pass through the vicissitudes of life, do not condemn yourself as not being in God’s will. Just know that God is right there in your storm and victory is sure. John16:33
