HOW CAN I OVERCOME FEAR?

2 Timothy 1:7,“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (NLT)

From the scripture above, you need to realize that fear is a spirit – a demonic spirit. If you want to overcome fear, you need to deal with the spirit behind fear and cast it out in the name of Jesus.

After casting out the demon of fear, you must feed your mind and spirit with God’s word. Faith is the opposite of fear, both of them thrive on information. Fear comes mostly when we hear something frightful, but faith is built when we meditate on God’s word that negates our fear. In Romans 10:17, the scripture said that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The more you study God’s word, the greater your faith becomes. Fear also cometh by hearing negative news and feeding one’s mind with the wrong stuff.

Do not forget that your confession is also a factor that determines your victory over fear. If you talk yourself into fear, fear remains; but if you talk yourself out of fear into faith, faith is built. If you can take these steps, you will overcome fear.
