CAN CHRISTIAN COUPLES WATCH PORNOGRAPHY TO ENHANCE THEIR SEX LIFE?

The answer is a straight NO. There are certain things you should know about porn movies. Most porn characters you see are not normal human beings; most of them are on drugs probably sex-enhancing drugs. What you see in pornography is also not what could be practiced in reality and still get the fun needed because in video recording, there’s always a trick of ‘stop’, ‘get ready’ and ‘action. It is only a foolish man that would want to last long in bed like his favorite porn star because as I said earlier, those guys are on drugs.

There are certain things you should know that makes pornography wrong or sinful in marriage:

  1. It is a form of adultery: Matthew 5:32 made it clear that if you think lustful thoughts in your heart, you have committed adultery. Pornography stirs lustful thoughts in your heart and that’s a sin. Your marriage cannot benefit from porn because it makes your thought life to become lustful which is sinful. It is wrong to derive pleasure in the nakedness of another person. Those acting out pornography are wrong because they’re promoting immorality at the expense of their pocket.
  2. Pornography breeds comparison: When you watch pornography, there is a high tendency to compare your spouse to the porn star you’ve watched. As I said earlier, most of what they do are not really under normal or sane conditions. You can’t compare yourself or your wife to someone under the influence of drugs. That’s not right. Your marriage will lose its shine when you bring in a third party (a porn star) and compare him/her to your spouse, your marriage will hit the rocks. Your wife or husband cannot perform like the character you see in porn movies.
  3. Unsatisfied carnal cravings: Men by nature love varieties, and pornography will build a high carnal craving inside the man which may cause the man to go out of his home in pursuit of satisfaction. Pornography will surely do that because when you see that your spouse cannot satisfy you like your porn star, the tendency is very high to get out of the home in search of a woman or man that you think would satisfy such a craving. The truth is that, no woman (including prostitutes) can still give that satisfaction because pornography will always create unrealistic expectations for your sex life.

I will advise that if you need to spark your sex life, kindly consult Christian counselors that are experienced in the area of marital counseling, they should be able to help out. Pornography is not the answer.
